The Respighi Ensemble, founded by Federico Ferri in 1995, gathers together a group of prestigious musicians, winners of national and international competitions.  It performs a vast repertoire, giving particular attention to Italian music, taking care to adopt appropriate performance techniques and original instruments according to the historical period in which the piece was written.  The Respighi Ensemble collaborates with soloists such as Bruno Canino, Franco Maggio Ormezowsky, Domenico Nordio, Danilo Rossi, Emanuele Segre and actors such as Arnoldo Foŕ, Nando Gazzolo, Ugo Pagliai and Paola Gassman.

The group performs regularly in Italy and other countries in prestigious concert halls and important festivals among which Europalia, the Emilia Romagna Festival, the Pontino Festival, the Euterpe of Rome and the Bonci Theatre of Cesena.

The Ensemble has recorded for the Velut Luna label the complete concerts for violin and the sinfonia concertante for violin, viola and orchestra by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with Domenico Nordio and Danilo Rossi and, in collaboration with Rai Trade, the world debut performance and recording (Tactus) of “Stagioni” by Adriano Guarnieri, with soloists Marco Rogliano and Annamaria Morini, gaining widespread appreciation from public and critics both in Italy and abroad.  With actor Matteo Belli it recorded an innovative project on Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” with a synthesis between words and music.

It has recorded for Tactus  unpublished works by Martino Bitti, Nicola Francesco Haym, Paolo Bellinzani and Franco Margola, music by Antonio Vivaldi (Roberto Giaccaglia bassoon and the complete concertos for oboe with Paolo Grazia), Giuseppe Tartini (the complete flute concerts with Massimo Mercelli), Francesco Geminiani, Tommaso Giordani (Gianpaolo Bandini guitar) and Luigi Boccherini (complete quintets with guitar with Emanuele Segre).

Several of these recordings have come out in musical magazines such as CD Classics and FaLaUt and have been transmitted by radio on Radio Vaticana, Radio Svizzera Italiana and Rai Radio 3. The Respighi Ensemble is the resident orchestra of Caleidoscopio Musicale.
